Mission 9 – apan är död – Halléns Geocachingäventyr

Som några av er säkert redan hört har den sista APE-cachen i Nordamerika (Mission 9: Tunnel of Light) blivit mugglad. Det är en märklig serie av cacher med egna eftertraktade iconer bland många geocachare. Det går nämligen inte att ersätta orginalburken, har den blivit mugglad så har den, då blir cachen arkiverad. Ett hårt och orubbligt system! Det har diskuterats på gc:s forum samt dykt upp ett förslag på feedback forumet idag om att rädda denna APE-cache.

Förslaget löd:

Save Mission 9 Project APE

Ok, the original container is gone but the cache and its location was iconic. In my opinion this cache should either be replaced or have a logable plaque at the location where the APE cache was before. Also now how will the Triad be completed? Please restore Mission 9 in some shape or form.

Svaret kom snabbt, endast nio hann rösta för förslaget innan Jeremy ingrep:

Status: declined

The cache container no longer exists, so the cache has been archived, which is consistent with the other Project APE caches. Even if a plaque were to be erected at the location it would not have the desired Project APE icon as part of the listing.

Så tog alltså den sagan slut, jag är helt klart besviken och jag vet att det finns ett gäng andra där ute i cyberrymden som också deppar efter denna trista händelse!

Nu blir det till att ta sig till den sista av ape-cacherna, ”Mission 4: Southern Bowl”. Det är väl inte omöjligt att ta sig dit, dessutom skulle det ju bli en logg i ett Sydamerikanskt land dessutom – så man får väl se det positivt!

Då det nu lär komma en ny film om ”apornas planet”, kan man då tänka sig att lägga ut nya APE-cacher? Det verkar inte positivt, men inte helt omöjligt:

Will there be MORE NEW APE caches for when the NEXT Planet of the Apes movie is released soon?

If not there SHOULD Be… 😉

If 20th Century Fox contacts us this time for a new cache series, we can revisit this suggestion. For now, though, we have to decline as they have not approached us for a sequel! 🙂
